On both sides of the River Nile there is only desert. Ancient Egyptians build their houses and villages along the River Nile. The black soil near the river is very rich and fertile and Egyptians can grow cereals and vegetables. Giza is a city famous for its three great pyramids. The pyramids are the stone tombs of Egypt s pharaohs. Pharaoh is the name of the king of Egypt, he is half-man and half-god.
